This course is recommended for ages 11 to 17, and is offered by the American Red Cross. It is designed to help participants develop leadership skills, build their business, help keep themselves and others safe, and learn basic child care and basic first aid. This course will also give youth caregivers the skills and confidence to safely and responsibly care for children and infants.
Through hands-on activities, interactive video and lively discussions, the course teaches young people how to:
- Care for children and infants.
- Be good leaders and role models.
- Make good decisions and solve problems.
- Keep the children they babysit, and themselves safe.
- Handle emergencies such as injuries, illnesses, and household accidents.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion.
There will be (2) 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
