Collection of personal information
Burlington Area School District collects and uses personal information with adequate notice and consent, when applicable. For example, when you register for camps or classes, we will ask you to provide personal information to complete these transactions. This information will include contact information such as your name, address, telephone number, and email address; financial information such as your credit card number; and other unique information such as user IDs and passwords. 

How we use your information
Burlington Area School District may use your information to:
-      Help register you or any member of your family for the camps or classes offered through this website;
-      Assist you in completing a transaction or order;
-      Communicate with you about camps or classes;
-      Provide service and support.

Credit card information is used only for payment processing and fraud prevention. Credit card information and other sensitive personal information are required to process a transaction and are not used for any other purpose. 

Keeping your personal information secure
To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, to maintain data accuracy, and to ensure the appropriate use of the information, Burlington Schools utilizes appropriate physical, technical, and administrative procedures to safeguard the information we collect. We use a 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, provided by Verisign, the largest provider of Security to the Internet world, during the entire registration process. Our software vendor, Arbiter, is also PCI compliant, which is the Federal standard for credit card security for Personal Cardholder Information. SSL encryption is designed to make the information unreadable by anyone but you or us.  This security measure is working when you see the symbol of either an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending on your browser) at the bottom of your browser window. Credit card numbers are used only for processing payments and are not used for other purposes. Credit Card numbers are stored as encrypted and will show to you and to us as with only the last four digits (For example: VISA XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-3456). This service gives you and the Burlington Area School District an extra level of security to guard against credit card fraud and to protect your financial data.
